The inspiration for this pillow came from a post featuring frugal ideas. The item made was a tea towel embellished with rose petals. Both items had been purchased from the dollar store.
I chose to make a 14″x20″pillow.
I used a white canvas/denim fabric and cut one piece 14″x20″.
I generally cut my fabric the exact size of the pillow form or slightly smaller to insure a snug fit.
NOTE TO SELF: Next time you plan a tutorial using rose petals, buy multiple colors, NOT JUST WHITE! Sorry this is so hard to see!
This look is achieved by sewing layered rows of petals from the bottom of the pillow to the top.
(Always start from the bottom of the fabric)
Each row consists of one layer of petals placed side by side across the fabric and a second layer, with alternating petals, placed on top of the first.
For instance: My pillow took 10 petals for the first layer and 9 petals for the second layer.
Each row then consisted of 19 rose petals.
