I’ve been accused of having way too many pillows. Usually by my husband or kids who are forever throwing them off the beds. Or sofas. Or chairs.
The dogs love them though. Much to my dismay.
I’m sure I’m not alone with this obsession.
I also a firm believer in Pretty Pillows, Feather Pillows and a More is More Pillow Philosophy.
My friend Cassity also adheres to this philosophy. That’s why it’s always a treat when she calls and says she’s ready for more pillows. Whether they’re for her master bedroom, game room or kids playroom.
These lovelies are for Cassity’s family room. Cassity chose an aqua chenille animal print that we made into a 20×25 pillow with a multi colored brush fringe along each end.
The tan linen with the rusty red embroidered dot was made into 2 – 22″ euros which we trimmed out with a fun ribbon & chenille fringe.
The gold floral and paisley fabric was left over from the family room window treatments. These were Pottery Barn panels which I altered for a custom look.
I felt this linen was a bit on the thin side to be really sturdy pillows for Cassity’s young family so I lined each side.
The lining I like to use is a window treatment lining called a Napped lining or Classic Napped. It’s thicker than your regular poly-cotton lining where one side feels like a flannel inter lining. It’s my favorite lining to use but works equally well as a pillow lining. You can line your thinner fabrics with just about any fabric to give them a sturdier feel but a similar fabric to use would be a nice weight flannel.
Such a pretty and unexpected combination of fabrics, colors and trims made these pillows a charming addition to Cassity’s family room.
