I still remember the first curtains I ever picked out & purchased for myself.
Floor length panels for our living room and I adored them. They were perfect! Purchased from Spiegel, I imagined using them for years to come.
Styles change as quickly as the seasons yet, every now and then you’ll find something that just might stand the test of time. I believe this floral cafe curtain is one of those rare finds.
This master bathroom was a recent, truly seamless addition, to a lovely older home. The neighborhood was full of large trees and established landscaping in the heart of Oklahoma City.
Though her neighbors were just over the fence, the way the house was situated, privacy really wasn’t an issue.
Brenda waited and lived without bathroom curtains for over a year. WithoutĀ one thing covering this window!
Raise your hand if you could do that. š
When she found this ageless linen floral the wait was over.
The decision was quickly made to create a floral cafe curtain to soften the windows and provide privacy…just in caseĀ it’s every needed.
Brenda is a huge fan of tassels and trim. She loves the idea of adding all the little extras. But this is one instance where the fabric steals the show all by itself.
We did add a sweet two-fold pleat at the top. This gave a finished, tailored look and allowed fullness without creating a droop. 1.5″ rings were sewn on at each pleat.
Can you see the detail on the curtain rod? With her love of details in mind, Brenda chose a custom curtain rod with the look of bark. It’s not an obvious detail but she knows it’s there.
The window’s inside measurements are 45″ w x 45″ h. We mounted the curtain rod @ 32.5″h.
Each panel is created from 1.5 widths of fabric making it approximately 77″ wide before pleats. Curtain is hemmed at 32″ long.
The maroon towels and flowers will soon be replaced with softer colors to better suit the new color scheme.
This floral cafe curtain is currently on my most favorite list. And unlike my long ago Spiegel purchase of floor length, country blue curtains including tiebacks, I truly believe this sweet little curtain will remain a favorite for many years to come.
