Sonya Hamilton Designs
Hello & Welcome! I'm so glad you're here!
I truly believe everyone has the innate ability to create. Gen 1:27 says "God created man in his own image..." Our Creator created each of us in His image therefore we all have the gift of creativity. The fruit of that creativity is as infinite as God is. How you use your creativity is unique to you!
My sincerest desire is that you find inspiration for your creative journey among these pages.
Hi! I'm Sonya. An artist, designer & creative who considers herself a maker at heart. Homemaker, art-maker, pillow-maker, dinner-maker, etc. While I'm happiest doing anything creative the love of my creative life is fabric.
I have a degree in Interior Design from the University of Central Oklahoma and have worked in interior design for almost 25 years. In 2010 I started the blog Beyond the Screen Door (you'll see this logo on many of the earlier images) later changing to Sonya Hamilton Designs sharing many of the projects I've worked on as an interior designer.
Over the past couple of years I have felt that creative pull taking me in a different direction. The desire to create art using fabric. This has lead to experimenting with fabric in many different ways, on a variety of different items, embellished with a multitude of mixed media. All of which I plan to share soon here on Sonya Hamilton Designs.
